A-4U operates a funded two-year postdoctoral placement programme, which facilitates the mobility of our postdoctoral students among the four universities and fosters research collaboration. This programme is also open to candidates from other universities in Spain and the rest of the world. In total 24 grants are offered each year.

Annually, each university of the Alliance offers four postdoctoral grants to PhD holders of each the other three universities (16 grants in total), in order to increase mobility among researchers of all four centres.
In addition, in 2012 each A-4U university selects two PhD holders from any other national or international university, including those from one of the three other awarding universities (8 grants in total). These grants will be preferably assigned to candidates coming from those Russian and Indian universities that signed a general agreement with A-4U.
The duration of the placement is two years and grant holders will commence their stays between 17 September and 17 October. The gross annual amount of the grant is 25.383, Euros and payment will be made in 14 instalments per year.
Applicants must be holders of a PhD degree received from 1 January 2009 to 15 October 2012. The date of the degree is the date of the reading and approval of doctoral thesis. Applicants cannot have been employed or have received grants at the university they apply for in the two years before this call.
